Still, after Going Postal, I figure you're well primed to start poking around the rest of Discworld at your leisure. The sequel, Making Money is also pretty good, though the third one, Raising Steam is a bit lacking, sadly. It introduces my favorite character, Moist Von Lipvig, and it it's right in the period where Pratchett is firing on all cylinders, showing just how wonderfully screwy the city of Ankh-Morpork can be. Though, if I may suggest a later starting point, Going Postal is a load of fun. Guards! Guards! and Wyrd Sisters are both solid recommendations (though I found Wyrd Sisters to be a bit, uh, weird. Except the short stories, I dont read short stories never have, and I havent tried the science of the discworld series either. I mean, it's amusing enough, but it definitely falls short of what Pratchett is capable of as an author. So I stuck with the author and had all the books on order before they were released, and I became a massive fan eagerly awaiting each new book with marked impatience. OR you can click on the links below to download/stream Lords and Ladies: Discworld, Book 14 on your smartphone/tablet + many other books/magazines/podcasts. That is daunting to think about, and the collection is daunting if you. My recommendation is always: One of those first, then start with Colour of Magic and go in publication order just because his writing evolved as he went, so I think you get more that way. Terry Pratchetts Discworld is a massive collection with just over FORTY books in it. I definitely WOULDN'T recommend The Colour of Magic as a first read, however. Guards, Guards seems to be the most popular answer, with Mort being the second most popular. okay? Maybe it'll hit harder on a re-read since I'm not as young and callow and blithely oblivious as to inexorable march of time. Mort was the first Discworld book I read, and it was.
